A previous owner built the house in 2007, and the sellers bought the place in 2010. They’re moving to a house in the west end that’s large enough to accommodate them and their in-laws.
The buyers are a young family who loved the the way the skylights brighten the interior of the home. The selling agent says they were also attracted to the low-maintenance backyard, which is almost completely covered in wooden decking.
The house elicited one offer at its first open house, but the sellers deemed it too low and rejected it. It sat on the market for about two months. According to the selling agent, potential buyers liked the layout of the home, but some of them may have been discouraged by the list price. Eventually, the sellers accepted an offer for $49,000 under asking.
